Water walls

The water wall, as an office or home fixture, has gained immense popularity in the past few decades. Although these marvelous works of art look incredibly complicated, sophisticated, and weighty, the fact is that they are remarkably simple pieces which use the natural beauty of water to create a huge effect on the space in which they are installed. The benefits of such a fountain span a wide range of effects with explanations ranging from feng shui to simple psychology and history as well.

From a mechanical standpoint wall fountains are simply a central piece of a durable substance such as granite, marble, steel, glass, or copper with two chambers, one on top and bottom. The top chamber typically houses a simple pumping mechanism which draws water from the reservoir (at the bottom) and disperses it endlessly across the central slab. This bottom reservoir is often filled with round stones to mimic a streambed and one or both of the chambers is typically equipped with soft lights which illuminate the water as it flows creating a stunning light show, especially at night.

This water source imparts the piece of nature to the space in which it operates. By contrasting this natural, endless motion and sound with the typically right-angle architecture of modern humanity you can bring a sense of relief into your home or office. The sound of water is psychologically equated with tranquility in the human mind, for reasons which go back into ancient history, and throughout the preceding centuries humans of power and influence have continually stocked their private places with fountains. Why not do the same and bring all the advantageous effects of a water fountain into your life?
